Edwin H. Dotson, Jr., 84, passed away on Friday evening, November 25, 2016, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 4, 1932 in Union City, Ohio, the son of Edwin H. and Sarah Margaret (Fifer) Dotson, Sr. and graduated from Union City East High School in 1952. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force Security Service during the Korean Conflict where he earned a purple heart. In March of 1966 in Union City, OH, he married Patricia R. Roark. Edwin worked for Smurfit-Stone in Electrical Maintenance, retiring in 2002 and was a former member of Union Chapel Congregational Christian Church in Parker City. Surviving are one son, Thomas Dotson of Indianapolis; one daughter, Valeria Woolums (husband, Charles) of Eaton; two grandchildren, Laurel Woolums and Callahan Woolums, both of Eaton; and one brother, Jerry Dotson (wife, Helen) of Union City. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 37 years, Patricia on September 29, 2002; and one brother, Claude Dotson. Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor Dewayne Loveless officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Delaware County.
