KLIMEKEdward R.Edward R. Klimek, age 86, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016, at 's Toledo facility. He was born on May 30, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio to John and Katherine (Kopeta) Klimek. Ed was a graduate of Woodward High School. After serving his country in the Korean War in the US Army, he was employed at Willys Overland, and as a maintenance man for General Mills for over 35 years, retiring from there at age 63. Ed married the love of his life, Phyllis (Luallen) Klimek on August 6, 1955, in St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg. A devoted family man, he adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Phyllis were able to enjoy many trips over the years to Europe, Australia, Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean. He enjoyed tending his vegetable garden, and was a talented fix-it man who could repair anything. A longtime parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, he volunteered many years there as an usher, always with a friendly smile, a flower in his lapel, and a Top o' the morning to you.Ed is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; children, Dan (Sue) Klimek, Paul (Tui) Klimek, Linda (Chuck) Stockman, Steve Klimek, and Cathy (Josh) Show; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chester Klimek; and sisters, Lillian Olejnik, Helen Bobak, Virginia Parker, Stella Klimek, and Judy Klimek.Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will begin on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 11 a.m. The Lucas County Burial Corps will conclude with Military Honors at the church.Memorial tributes may be given to Regina Coeli Church or to .
