Edward Perez Quijada Sr., 84, went home to our Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. He was born on January 21, 1928 in Laguna, Arizona to Ramon Quijada and Petra Perez Quijada. Edward served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947 as a Private assigned to fire fighting unit. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Ybarra Quijada of 47years; his son, Ray Anthony Quijada; parents and one brother, Jesse Quijada. Edward is survived by his children, Martha Montoya, Edward (Susan), William (Irene), Mary (Erick) Gomez-Villeda, Ronald (Michelle) and Mark; his brother, Ray Quijada; sisters, Angie Quiroz, Mary Yslas and Julie Scroggins; also surviving are his 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Wake will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with rosary beginning at 7:00pm. Mass will be at Immaculate Conception Church on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 10:00am burial, immediately following at Desert lawn Memorial. Pallbearers will be Erick Gomez-Villeda II, Ray Figueroa Jr., Mark Quijada Jr., Jay Quijada, David Quijada and Gabriel Solis. Honorary pallbearers are his sons, Edward, William, Ronald, Mark Quijada, and daughters, Martha Montoya and Mary Gomez-Villeda.
