Edward Lee MoberlyNovember 11, 1929 - September 28, 2015Edward "Lee" Moberly, 85, of Middleton, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015. He was born on November 11, 1929, in Caldwell, Idaho to Oscar and Alice (Lee) Moberly of Middleton.Lee grew up on a farm outside of Middleton. He attended all 12 years of school there, graduating in 1947. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy for nine years. During his time in the U.S. Navy he traveled to the Pacific, served on the Battleship Missouri during the Korean Conflict, and was stationed in San Diego, CA, Astoria, OR, and Kodiak, AK.He married Virginia Dee Pierce at the Star Christian Church on June 3, 1951, sharing almost 65 happy years together. Lee was a member of several branches of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and was elected Grand Master of the State of Idaho in 2007. He held the position of Middleton Post Master from 1957 through 1984. He enjoyed camping, fishing and exploring across Idaho, and traveled the length and breadth of the state during his year as Odd Fellows Grand Master. His knowledge of Middleton History was legendary and a lifelong interest. Fishing trips to Alaska were a favorite pastime.Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Nancy George. He is survived by his wife Virginia; his two sons and their wives, Dennis (Claudia) of Middleton and Bruce (Darlena Taylor) of Boise; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer (Levi) Westra of Spokane, WA, and David (Katey) Moberly of Boise; one adored great-grandson, Asher Lee Moberly; his sister Donna Gabica of Whitebird; and nine nieces and nephews and their families.A viewing will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell, 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, October 1, 2015. A memorial service will be held at Caldwell United Methodist Church, 824 Logan Street on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM.
