Edward J. "Ed" Sheffler, 92, of Montrose, passed away on May 1, 2015, at Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose. He was born on April 1, 1923 in Montrose, to the late Charles and Eva M. (Sivers) Sheffler. Ed is survived by his four children and their spouses, Patricia A. Sheffler, James E. and Peggy M. Sheffler, Linda L. and George A. Arnold, Krista L. and Brandon J. Naylor; eight grandchildren, Jody (Kurt) Sherman, Aaron (Jennifer) Arnold, Marci (Jamie) Owens, Amy Slater (Nick Riley), Brian (Rebecca) Sheffler, John Arnold (Amber Housen), Brynn and Lily Naylor; eight great grandchildren; sister, Rita Nagy; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Sarah Esther (Rudock) Sheffler; son, Charles Sheffler; sister, Frances Brobst; and brother, Kenneth Sheffler.Ed was an MP in the Army during WWII and served in Burma and China. He enjoyed his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.Funeral Services were held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose, with officiant Rich Tucker. Interment will be in the Montrose Cemetery, Montrose. Visitation was held on Sunday evening, May 3, 2015.Donations in Ed's memory can be made to the Food Pantry through the Susquehanna County Trehab, 81 Industrial Dr., Route 29 South Montrose, PA 18801.
