Edna E. Strege, a life time Mount Vernon, WA resident, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at home, after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. She was born on June 17, 1923, the daughter of Albert and Agnes Goodrich. She attended school in Mount Vernon, WA and graduated from Skagit Valley College. She married Robert A. Strege on July 9, 1943. Edna was an avid boater and loved fishing. She also traveled with friends to Russia, Italy and Scandinavia. She enjoyed gardening, painting, cooking, quilting, flower arranging and making pottery. She shared her skills by teaching many classes. Edna had a life dedicated to church and community services. Edna was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle; two sons, Alexander and Frederick; and husband, Robert. Surviving her are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Ron Peterson, Karin and Bill Vincent; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dora Strege; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2015 E. Blackburn Road, Mount Vernon.
