Edith M. NiverMay 26, 1931 - Nov. 11, 2016MISHAWAKA - Edith M. Niver, 85, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016, in her home. Edith was born on May 26, 1931, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late Roscoe and Edith (Kinneman) Meyers. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Niver Jr. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Michael) Michele of Mishawaka, IN, Richard (Verna D) Smethers of Osceola, IN, Dennis (Lou Ann) Smethers, of Arvada, CO,; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Phillip Meyers of Mishawaka, IN, and Sharon (Thomas) Ewing of Mishawaka, IN. Edith was also preceded in death by 10 siblings: Katherine Emmons, Erbyl Stewart, Eunice Niver, Richard Meyers, Dudley Meyers, William Meyers, George Meyers, Doris Mummey, Carol Boocher, and Roscoe Meyers Jr.Edith was the Blood Bank supervisor South Bend Medical Foundation at Elkhart General Hospital. She was an active volunteer with Give The Kids The World, which was a charity for terminally ill children. She also volunteered around Christmas at the Salvation Army and was a member of the Moose Lodge. Visitation for Edith will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 5-7 pm in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at 11 am in the funeral home, with visitation 1 hour prior. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
