KAESSHAEFER
ELIZABETH BALLOCH FOX of Warrenton VA. Beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died in her home on January 28, 2017.She was born on April 25, 1929, in Elkins Park PA, to Elizabeth Balloch Richards Fox Eshleman, and Caleb Fellows Fox, Jr. They resided at The Chimneys in Rydal PA near Philadelphia. Elizabeth, also known as "Susie" to family and friends, was the granddaughter to Caleb F. Fox, banker, and financier who was partly responsible for People's Traction Company and Willow Grove Park in Willow Grove PA.Susie attended the Springside School in Philadelphia PA, the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury CT, and Brillantmont Finishing School in Switzerland, where she majored in French. She married Joseph Briggs Kaesshaefer on March 31, 1950, at St. Paul's Church in Elkins Park PA. They met at the June Fete in Abington PA in 1949.As a young woman, Susie was an accomplished equestrian and volunteered for the American Red Cross during World War II. She was also known as a talented amateur tennis player. Susie and her family were formerly members of the Philadelphia Cricket Club, the Country Club of Fairfax, and Fauquier Springs Country Club. While living in Warrenton, she was an active member of The Wellness Center.Mrs. Kaesshaefer is survived by her brother, Sidney Fox; 6 children, Pamela Kaesshaefer, Charles S. Kaesshaefer, Lisa Kaesshaefer Ullman, Elizabeth B. Kaesshaefer, Joseph B. Kaesshaefer, Jr., and Linda Kaesshaefer Reid; 13 grand-children and 3 great-grand-children. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 2 P.M., at Moser Chapel, Warrenton VA. An Entombment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington VA.
