Doug was born on April 16, 1933 and raised in Beaumont, TX. He passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2016. During the Korean War, he served in the Army 2 years. He was a Wood Pattern Maker by trade for 43 years, retiring in Houston. His children and first grandchild graduated from North Shore HS. A long time member of the Church of Christ, he was a member at Royalwood CofC & served as an elder at the Impact Houston CofC. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 63 years; children Barbara, Virginia, Douglas Jr. & wife Laurie, Richard & wife Karen; grandchildren Jennifer (Brown) Pantoja, Melinda, Isaac, Benjamin, Anthony, Andrew, Levi and Reuben Brown; 2 great grandchildren, Joseph & Ava Pantoja; brother PD Brown & wife Joyce; sister Raye Dorrell & husband Dwain; he was preceded in death by sister Martha Franklin. He was buried with Military Honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Impact Houston Church of Christ at 10:30 am on July 9, 2016.
