A life Well Live

Dorothy White was born on May 11,1939 to the late Benjamin and Mary Swinton in St. Stephen South Carolina. Dorothy attended school in Berkeley County. Eouth Carolina. and at a early age she married the late Harry White and moved to New York City to raise a family. Dorothy worked as a Press Operator for many years in New York, and was a timeless worker. During the early 1960's. Dorothy wanted a better life for allher siblings. so she sent for anyone who wanted to live in the big city. There she learned the importance of family and values of hard work. "Aunt Dot"as many of us called her was not only the matriarch of the family, but of the community!! Ms.Dot was an active member of the Tenant Patrol of Grant Houses wheere she residedfor over 20 years. Dorothy loved to help anyone in need, and supported anyone who came to her door. She was an excellent cook andevery holiday we would all gather together to celebrate all occasions that she put together for the family. Dorothy helped raised many of us. Family and friends. she is loved by so many and well be missed deeply.

In 2015. Dorothy joined White Rock Baptist Church were she later became ill. After a long time of sickness, God saw the road getting rough and took our beloved Dorothy to the heavenly gates of glory. There she was granted her angel wings on September 18,2019. She leaves to mourn: her only surviving daughter. Lavonda White: son-in-law Mabousso (ms): her three grandchildern Jayden,Jada, and Jessiah: her two sisters, Rebecca Swinton and Maebell House (Willie): one brother Leroy Swinton: nephews Leory and Timothy who she had a special bond with: three special nieces, Jackie Swinton, latoya Swinton and Natasha Doughty: great nephew Lamont Swinton and Byrson Swinton: great nieces Hermisha, Brianna since she learned how to say words she would called her Aunt Dot (annie) and a host of other relatives and friends who she loved dearly.

As we sit here today and mourn the loss of our beloved Dorothy White; we should celebrate her union with the Almighty God, because she has no more pain or suffering to endure. instead she is in the hands of our Father in heaven. Dorothy wouldb want us to remember the precious ti,e we all shared eating her delicious cooking on holidays, and having that quality family time that is priceless, and no money could buy. Dorothy's pain is finally over, we should rejoice because she has gained her angel wings!! Let's share stories so that her grandchildern will have beautiful memories to last a lifetime and her legacy will live on.
