Dorothy S. Ruesink, 84, of Cedar Grove, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 while a resident at the Cedar Grove Gardens.Dorothy was born on March 28, 1932 in Oostburg, the daughter of the late Edward and Delia (Westerbeke) Janisse. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1950. On September 28, 1950 she married Wayne Ruesink in Oostburg. Dorothy was a devoted homemaker and also helped her husband doing bookkeeping for their plumbing business, Ruesink Plumbing and Heating. Dorothy later worked in the deli at the Dirkse Piggly Wiggly store in Cedar Grove.Dorothy was a member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and was active in the Ladies Aid and as a kitchen volunteer managing many meals for church events. She enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking, baking, and collected Delft.Dorothy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wayne of Cedar Grove; four daughters, Karen (Dave) Watry of Cedar Grove, Linda Juozapaitis of Tucson, AZ, Sandy (Tom) Schneider of Glenbeulah, Barb (Mark) Jungers of Campbellsport; eleven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Norman (Marilyn) DeBlaey of Oostburg.Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Susan DeBlaey and Jane Ruesink; three brothers, Donald (Pearl), Lloyd (Helen), and Norman (Bette) Janisse; and two sisters-in-law, Faye DeBlaey and Arlene (Henry) Vander Walker. A funeral to celebrate Dorothy's life will take place at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Monday January 2, 2017 at 11 am with the Rev. Al Schut officiating. Burial will take place at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.Family and friends will gather at the First Reformed Church on Monday from 9 am until the time of the service at 11 am.A memorial fund is being established in her memory for the First Reformed Church.The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg (920-564-2771) is serving the Ruesink family.
