Smeester, Dorothy M. (Sharp)Dorothy M. (Sharp) Smeester, 91, Green Bay, died very unexpectedly Saturday, November 11, 2017. She was born on February 14, 1926, in Green Bay to George and Marie (Steeno) Sharp. On October 7, 1944, Dorothy married Melvin Smeester at Annunciation Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 2017. Together they enjoyed 73 years of marriage.Dorothy was the strong and caring matriarch of her family. She took great pride in her ability to provide compassionate care and the never-failing love and support to her family. Her powerful leadership, strength and love will be greatly missed.Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sally Landwehr; two granddaughters, Melonie (Jeff) Tahtinen, and Christina (Steve) Bieda; two great-grandchildren, Brennan Tahtinen and Marissa Bieda; a brother, George (Mary) Sharp; a sister, Gloria (Robert) Charles.She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; and a son-in-law, Robert Landwehr.Friends may call at Fort Howard Memorial Park Chapel, 1350 N. Military Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel, with Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
