Doris RastMarch 3, 1923 - August 29, 2013Doris Rast, 90, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully of causes natural to age on Thursday, August 29th, 2013 at a local care center. She was born on March 3, 1923 to Zeplen and Rose Dela (Gild) Hill. She graduated from Malad High School. Doris married Melvin A. Christensen. This marriage ended in divorce. She later married John Rast who preceded her in death. Doris loved to travel and she traveled to many countries throughout the world. Among her hobbies, Doris loved to shop. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Zeplen and Rose; four sisters, Deon Condie, Rita Hill, Marcedis Bowen, and Shirlean Harris; three brothers, Gene, Warren and Joe Hill; and a son Kevin Christensen. She is survived by her sons, Blair K. (Tricia) Christensen of Savannah, Georgia, and Dennis M. (Karen) Christensen of Chubbuck, Idaho; as well as grandchildren, Lisa Millard, Jeanne Christensen, Mirada Christensen, Stratton Christensen, Sandra Bethke and Eugene Naegle; and four great grandchildren.As per her wishes, Doris was cremated under the care and direction of Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave., Pocatello, Idaho. Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Sept 7th at Falls View Cemetery in American Falls, Idaho.
