DJ (Doris Jean) Scraggs passed away on March 20, 2017 in Alamogordo, NM. She was born on March 18th 1936 in Mt. Joy, PA to Ruth and John Melhorn. DJ married Buddy (Ronal E.) Scraggs in 1958, and had 2 children, Kelly and Shawn. DJ and June Rawley opened up "The Foundry" jewelry in 1980. Together they built a thriving and successful business. They dissolved their partnership in May of 1999. DJ then partnered up with her daughter and opened up DJ's on July 4th, 1999, and enjoyed almost 19 more years. Everyone that came through her door was family and she truly loved and cared for all her customers many of whom are considered family.She is survived by her brother Bobby Melhorn and wife Ginnie of Mt. Joy, PA; her son Shawn; daughter Kelly; one granddaughter Nicole; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by parents; brother, John W; sister, Betty, and Buddy her beloved husband and partner of 54 years. DJ will truly be missed by all who knew her.
