Dora A. CorderMuncie - Dora A. Corder, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 18, 2017, at the Liberty Village Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was born on May 2, 1931, in Parmleysville, Kentucky, the daughter of Walter and Polly Katherine (Davis) Burnett.Dora attended Parmleysville City Schools and later married the love of her life Homer T. Corder in 1947 and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2004. Mrs. Corder became a homemaker and was a member of the Bethel United Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school several years ago. She enjoyed sewing especially knitting and crochets work and loved doing gardening. In fact it was said "she had a green thumb".Survivors include one son, Homer Lee Corder, Muncie; two daughters, Doris Miller (husband-Tony) and Kathy Lewis- Stone both of Muncie; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Besides her husband of 57 years, Homer, she is preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Wayne Corder and Paul Gene Corder; one great grandson, Josiah in 2012; her parents; two brothers, Lyle Burnett and Walter Frank Burnett; four sisters, Henrietta Koger, Edna Winchester, Ella Mae Winchester and Lucille Jones.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Ron Elam officiating.
