So he put his arms around you and whispered come to me.A funeral service for Donna LaJune Spearman, 85, of Centerburg will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Croton United Methodist Church, 75 N. High St., Croton with Reverend Eva Marie Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the church.Mrs. Spearman passed away on March 14, 2017 surrounded by family at her home. She was born on June 24, 1931 in Granville to the late Russell Davis and Verne (Peters) Davis. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1949. Donna married Clyde Rogers Spearman, September 4, 1949. Donna was a woman of great faith and was an active member of Croton United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school, belonged to the Women's Society and was a Lay witness speaker. She was an active member of her community at Hartford Elementary School, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Croton Research Club and worked in the Croton Community Library. She enjoyed camping with her two younger sons. Donna worked as a case manager for Human Resource Department in Licking and Knox Counties. In later years, she enjoyed watching the Cleveland Cavaliers, cowboy movies and cooking shows on TV. She loved sending and receiving cards for special occasions.She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Spearman; sister, Delores Davis Rine.She is survived by her children, Dorinda Spearman, David Spearman, Donita (Ballard) Bowman, Don Spearman and Dan Spearman; grandchildren, Shad Bowman, Chelsea (Joe) Hoderfield, Deana Spearman, Brent (Megan) Spearman, Clarinda Spearman; great-grandchildren, Tessa and Kaitlyn Hoderfield, Jackson and Avery Spearman; sisters, Dorothy Futrell, Diane Linger, Darlene (Miller) Duke, Doris Davis; many beloved nieces, nephews and good neighbors.Memorial contributions can be made to the Croton United Methodist Church.
