ANGOLA — Donald Ray Stewart, age 73, of Angola, Indiana, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on November 17, 1940, in Stanton, Kentucky, to Oscar Burton and Rosie Lee (Rogers) Stewart. They both preceded him in death. He graduated from Orland High School. He retired from General Electric in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after 27 years of service. He formerly worked in construction. Mr. Stewart enjoyed farming and hunting, and also raised and trained hunting dogs. Surviving are two daughters, Bobbie Jo and Dale Daniels of Angola, Indiana, and Charity and Kevin Smith of Noblesville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Jacob and Abby Smith, and Samantha and Taylor Surfus; a sister, Penny Lee and Carleton Smith of Orland, Indiana; and a brother, William Monroe and Diane Stewart of Orland, Indiana. He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Ray Stewart II, and a brother, Oscar Duane Stewart. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2014, at Fairfield Cemetery, C.R. 12 and C.R. 13, Corunna, Indiana, with Pastor Chad Potts officiating.
