He was born on December 16, 1939 to the late Donald and Leda (Domingue) Johnson. He married the love of his life Lois Mitchell on Oct 26, 1961 in Rockville, Ct. He worked for many years in steel construction. Don was a lifelong member of the RVA and enjoyed fishing and gardening. Above all else he loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog Jake.Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years Lois, his daughters and spouses Irene, Lois, Donna, Valerie, Tammy, Mary, and Wendy, son Donald, Jr., brothers Carl, Robert, and Raymond, sisters Ann, Elly, Sylvia, and Patty, 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and son-in-law James Emery.A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 17 at 12:00 am at LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St. Winooski, Vt 05404. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
