WAWAKA — Donald F. Rasbaugh, age 86, of Wawaka, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 11:31 a.m. at North Ridge Village in Albion, Indiana. He was born on June 1, 1928, to Fred and Regina (Ankney) Rasbaugh in Sturgis, Michigan. He married Monica E. Debes in 1968. She survives. Donald graduated from Plum Lake School, Sturgis, Michigan, in 1943. Mr. Rasbaugh served his country honorably in the Navy. He worked and retired from the Ligonier Post Office. He was a member of the American Legion Post 243. He loved to fish and play guitar. Surviving are his wife, Monica; two sons, Kevin (Melinda) Hamman of Kendallville, and Michael Hamman of Lutz, Florida; five grandchildren, Candace Hamman, Erin (Jeremy) Kilgore, Brandon (Kristi) Hamman, Christopher (Regina) Hamman, and Carrie (LaRon) Gillard; five great-grandchildren, Kyler Bolen, Delani Kilgore, Lucas Kilgore, Tori Hamman, and Carson Hamman; a brother, David (Diane) Rasbaugh; and a sister Jean Swan. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Hamman; three sisters, Helen Yeager, Lucille Brothers, and Kathleen Knight; and two brothers, Joseph Rasbaugh, and Frederick Knight. A graveside service will be held in Mr. Rasbaugh's honor on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Cosperville Cemetery with Pastor Joey Nelson officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana. The Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier is assisting the family with arrangements.
