Leidel, DonaldDonald J. Leidel, 91, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, March 6, 2017, following complications from a short illness. He was born on September 30, 1925, to the late William and Anna (Spierings) Leidel. On October 1, 1971, he married the former Marcella (Marcie) Bouillard at St. Willebrord Catholic Church. Don was employed at Green Bay Planing Mill for 37 years. Don loved to talk to everyone and anyone! He especially liked to talk about the good 'ol days. Don loved spending time with family and friends, who he was very proud of. He loved life and was so grateful to have been blessed with so many years. He savored every day knowing it was a precious gift from our Lord and Savior. Don loved to go out to eat, playing checkers (he was a master), and playing cards. Most of all, he loved having his car clean and shiny so he could drive it around. Don loved his brother, Bob, who was also his best friend. After Bob passed away, he began adjusting to life and became the love of Bob's grandchildren's lives. In fact, Grandpa Don became a grandpa to many people throughout the years.Don will be sadly missed by his special family, Marty and Lisa Vandenberg; their daughters, Ella and Hannah; cousins, Butch and Ann Leidel; special friend, Joy Lemerond; and many other close family and friends.Don is preceded in death by his wife, Marcella; and brothers, Robert "Bob" Leidel and John "Jackie" Leidel.Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1224 12th Ave., from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
