Laurent, Donald J.Donald J. Laurent, 78, of South Bend, IN, was invited to Heaven at 4:30 am Thursday, March 9, 2017. He was born on October 16, 1938 in Kewaunee County, WI, to the late Theophile "Chuff" and Eunice (Boucher) Laurent. On ??May 29, 1965 he was united in marriage to the former Rebecca Rubens in Rosiere, WI. He was a loving son, husband, father and friend.Donald is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Laurent; children, Craig D. (Cindi) Laurent of Edina, MN, Allison M. (Mark) Keiser of Plymouth, IN, Elizabeth "Beth" A. (Derrick) Hall of Kokomo, IN and Andrew R. Laurent of Sun Prairie, WI; five grandchildren, Joshua & Jacob Laurent, Delaney & Samuel Keiser, and Ainsley Hall; two sisters, Donna Jandrin of Luxemburg, WI and Sharie Falkowski of Green Bay, WI and two brothers Douglas (Valerie) Laurent of Appleton, WI and Daniel (Chris) Laurent of Neenah, WI.? Donald graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and then was in the United States Army, and the Army Reserves. Donald then went to work for the United States Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division, and worked his way up from investigator to a district director. He retired in 2001 after 41 years of service. Donald was an outdoorsman, who loved to fish and hunt. Donald also loved sports and was on a bowling and golf league and loved to watch his Packers football. Donald volunteered by lecturing at St Jude's Catholic Church, doing home visits for St Vincent DePaul, and reading to the blind for the South Bend Public Library. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an American Red Cross blood donor.A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017, 10:00 am at St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, March 12, at St Jude Catholic Church, where a rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm.Contributions in memory of Donald J.
