Donald H. TaylorPEKIN - Donald H. Taylor, 72, of Pekin passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016, in Peoria.Donald was born on December 9, 1943, to Orval and Doris (Newell) Taylor in Peoria. He married Patricia Crew on September 3, 1965, in Chillicothe. She survives.Also surviving are one daughter, Christina (Mark) Thompson of Lincoln; one son, Michael Taylor of Pekin; one brother, Steven Taylor of Henry; one sister, Susan (Jim) Monk of East Peoria; and three grandchildren, Logan, Isabelle and Olivia Thompson.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Phyllis Johnson.Donald worked for 28 years as a general mechanic for CILCO, retiring in 1999.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany and Vietnam.Donald's hobbies included camping, fishing, watching westerns and rooting for the Chicago Cubs. He was also a CB and Ham radio operator, going by the handle of "Appleman."A funeral will be held for Donald at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening, November 25, 2016, at the funeral home. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate the funeral.
