Donald F. Bogli, 82, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Mary-Jane (Becker) Bogli died peacefully on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at Kimberly Hall with his family by his side. He was born on November 18, 1934 in Hartford, CT, son of the late Frederick and Marie C. (Drews) Bogli. Donald grew up in Glastonbury and graduated from Glastonbury High School in 1952. Donald served our country with the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. He was married to the love of his life, Mary-Jane Becker on November 16, 1957 and together they settled in South Windsor, where they raised a family. He was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in South Windsor. He worked as a Field Engineer for National Cash Register, retiring in 1994 after 38 years of service. He continued to work as a Field Engineer for L.Inc Retail Solutions for another 5 years. Donald was a member of the Rockville Fish & Game Club. He enjoyed metal detecting with the Yankee Territory Coinshooters, genealogy research, UCONN Women's basketball, woodworking and playing practical jokes. In his younger years, he was very active with the Boy Scouts with his sons in Troop 880. He also enjoyed walks through the woods with his Black Labs throughout the years. His family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Kimberly Hall North for their kind and compassionate care. Along with his wife of 59 years, Mary-Jane, he leaves his sons, Craig Bogli and his wife Linda of Avon, and Todd Bogli and his wife Karen of Middletown; his daughter, Pam Tisdale of Somers; four grandchildren, Stephen, and Matthew Bogli and Nathan and Lilly Tisdale. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Susan Lambert. His family will receive friends on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 9:30-11 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor; with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Green Cemetery in Glastonbury.
