Donald D. Dilling, 68Donald D. Dilling, 68, of Remington, died at 10:05 am, Thursday, September 19, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Central of Lafayette. He had been in failing health for several years.He was born on December 23, 1944 in Rensselaer to the late Omar and Eileen (Hensler) Dilling. He graduated from Remington High School in 1962. He went on to serve in the Indiana Army National Guard.His marriage was to Deanna Warren on June 13, 1971 in Linden, IN. She survives.Don was a member of the Jasper County Fairboard for many years. He was a farmer, and drove a school bus for several years until 1991. For the last few years, he enjoyed driving as an escort for wide loads. He enjoyed 4-H, and loved mowing his lawn. Surviving with his wife are his daughters, Kelly VanMeter (husband: Eric) of Remington, and Kristi Hall (husband: Dillon) of Goodland, and brother, Carl Dilling (companion: Kris Todd) of Remington. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Sydney, Morgan, Taylor, and Chase VanMeter, and two step-grandchildren, Colton and L.E. Hall. Friends may call from 3-7 pm, Sunday, September 22, 2013, at the Remington United Methodist Church. Funeral service there at 11 am, Monday, September 23, 2013, with Rev. Mary van Wijk officiating.
