Dr. Donald BurgettLoudon, TNDr. Donald A Burgett, age 89,resident of Tellico Village, Loudon, TN, passed away November 16, 2016. Don was born on September 1, 1927 to Don and Gwen Burgett in Altman, PA. He was preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Joan Burgett; and son, Rick Burgett; also his sister, Carol Schofield. He is survived by his sister, Karen Cass, Indiana, PA; son, Bill Burgett; daughter-in-law, Tami; grandchildren, Maggie and Matthew, Juneau, AK; daughter, Lee Ann Burgett and fiancé Michael Sparks, Loudon, TN; daughter-in-law, Mary Burgett; grandson, Brett Burgett, Glenview, IL; granddaughter, Kaitlin Mae Burgett, Knoxville, TN; niece, Sharon and Michael Puluso, Cranberry, PA; nephew, Wes Schofield, Butler, PA. He received his BS and D Ph in Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburg and was a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association. Don was a member at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Lenoir City, TN where he served as a Parish Pastoral Council Member, Eucharistic Minister and was a Knights of Columbus member. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea serving in the U.S. Army, Infantry and Artillery 28th Division, Fox Company, 110th Don was involved in being the founder of T-BART boating association, Life member of VFW Post 1733 and American Legion Post 256, Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard, Hugs for Soldiers, Tellico Cruising Club, US Power Squadron, U.S. coast Guard Auxiliary, and POA president. He was also involved in West Virginia Club, Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh) Club, Illinois Club, and Little MI Club. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City. The family will also have a visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City with a Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. with entombment in the church columbarium.
