Donald passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 after a short illness.
He was born on January 23, 1943 in Houston and graduated from Humble High School. He earned a degree in Biology from Sam Houston State University where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and later received his Master's from Texas A&M University. After working on his PhD in Microbiology, Donald became a home builder. He was co-owner of Bailey-Wilkins Homes where he was one of the first custom home builders in Kingwood. He continued building homes until his retirement in 1993.
Donald was an avid high school football fan. He travelled across Texas each weekend in the Fall in order to find the best games to watch, and valued the friendships he gained with coaches, players and staff during his travels. He loved his hometown and lived in Humble until his death.
He is survived by his daughters, Anjanette Blewer and her husband Ronnie, Ashli Sosa and her husband Sergio; and grandchildren, Ella Reagan Blewer, Bennett Blewer and Zander Sosa.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2012, at Rosewood Funeral Home, 2602 South Houston Ave., Humble, TX 77396. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012, in the chapel of Rosewood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park, Humble, TX.
