Mr. Don Clinton Reins of West Jefferson died on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at the Westwood Hills Nursing & Rehab Center in Wilkesboro. He was 84.

Mr. Reins was born on July 28, 1929 in Wilkesboro to Roy Stewart and Maisie Hamilton Reins.

Mr. Reins was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roy Stewart "Pete" Reins and Thomas Hamilton Reins.

Mr. Reins served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korea era. He was owner and operator of Don's Food Market in Beaver Creek, Reins "Pure" Market in West Jefferson and Thurmond Grocery in Thurmond.

Don had a passion and a great love for animals and he will be greatly missed by his furry friends. The family would like to thank Westwood Hills Care Center for the compassion and care they showed Don during his time there.

A memorial service will be held at later date.

Mr. Reins is survived by his wife, Brenda Lovejoy Reins; a brother in-law, Michael A. Lovejoy of New Hampshire; and special friends and neighbors.
