Don GruetzmacherDon Gruetzmacher, age 83, of Kewaunee, WI, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at home. Don was born on October 24, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Franklin and Pauline (Landahl) Gruetzmacher. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School and attended
Arizona State University. While attending A.S.U. he played football for the team. After college he joined the Navy and served as a Pharmacist Mate. After his tour of duty he became Deputy Sheriff for Milwaukee County. Most recently he was a farmer in the Town of Carlton. He is survived by his children; Holly Gruetzmacher and her husband Alvin Cole, Pete Gruetzmacher, Tom Gruetzmacher, Kris Gruetzmacher and her friend Jay Cerione, Tim Gruetzmacher and special friend Trisha Boor, Matt Gruetzmacher, and Mary (Rick) Gerbers. He is further survived by his grandchildren; Max, Kristine, and Ann Gruetzmacher, Alex and Kendra Gerbers, and Brynna and Kelsey Gruetzmacher and one great grandchild; Cash Zastrow. Don is survived by his sister Sally Holl and her family. He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Carol and brother-in-law Donald Holl. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday October 2 at Buchanan Funeral Home 1425 Ellis St. Kewaunee. A Memorial Service celebrating Don's life will be at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplin Tom Bain officiating.
