This obituary is administered by:
Don BushDon Bush passed away on January 25th of natural causes, in Enumclaw, Washington. He was born on July 7, 1920 in Ellensburg and lived in the Valley until the age of 14 when he, his younger brother Ted, and his parents Helen and Jack Bush were forced to relocate to Seattle. His dad Jack was a long time employee of the Northern Pacific Railroad here in Ellensburg. Dons family all resided in the Manashtash Canyon area, Badger Pocket, Roslyn, Ronald and Cle Elum in the late 1800'S and early 1900's.He always returned to the Ellensburg area for vacations and took his family to Salmon La Sac yearly, remembering his summers as a young boy, spent there with his Grandparents Bun and Mabel Foster, who owned and operated Fosters Store and ran a outfitters packing business into the lakes in the area. He shared many stories over the years with his family of his life as a youngster including sleigh rides into town to see his Grandpa, who owned a livery stable and to the confectioners store in Ellensburg for ice cream his Aunt owned. Picking apples in the hot summers for Kerns to earn his spending money. Just this week he talked of his fun with his buddies as they would sneak down to the stock area at the train depot late at night, climb into the corrals and ride the sheep that had just arrived for the Wenas Canyon, and were waiting to be shipped to Seattle for the market. He left his family with hundreds of wonderful Ellensburg stories and old photos. His love of the outdoors lasted him his life time, hunting, fishing camping, boating, his hunting dogs and he loved building houses. He loved horses and passed that love on to his two daughters and taught them to ride at a very young age. Don was a 42 year long employee of Boeing and when he retired at age 60 was a Senior Supervisor in the Aero-Space division, most proud of his Moon Buggy Project which was first launched in 1971.Don married Grace on Valentines Day in 1941 and they were together 75 years when Grace Passed away in 2013. They will celebrate their 75th Wedding Anniversary on February 14, 2016.Don is survived by his two daughters, Darlene Brady and son-in-law Michael Brady of Ellensburg, Washington and Sharon Collette and son-in-law Paul Collette of Enumclaw,Washington.
