Dolores ""Lori"" Rascon, 73, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 surrounded by her loved ones in Las Vegas.She was born on Feb. 19, 1942 in Las Vegas to Ruben Valdez and Petra Anaya Valdez.She retired from the N.M. Department of Human Services in 1991 where she worked as a caseworker. She loved to dance, was a selfless public servant and contributed to many charities.A Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Ruth Rascon; father and mother, Ruben and Petra Valdez; two sisters, Mary and Agnes Valdez; two brothers, Ray Alfred Valdez and Ray Thomas Valdez; and former husband, Raymond Rascon.She is survived by her sons and daughters, Lawrence ""Larry"" Rascon of Albuquerque, Jeanette Moreno and husband, David, of Las Vegas, Karen Rascon of Albuquerque, Darwin Rascon and wife, Stella, of Las Vegas, Alfred ""Freddy"" Rascon and Karen Harlan of Las Vegas, Leigh Ann Rascon-Marquez and husband, Patrick, of Las Vegas, Matthew Rascon and wife, Lauri, of Albuquerque, and Alexandra ""Sandie"" Valdez of Albuquerque; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two grandsons she helped raise, Thomas Rason and Diego Rascon; sister, Carmen Hoogerhuis of Las Vegas; brothers, Arthur Valdez, Robert ""Bobby"" Valdez and wife, Kathy, Andrew Valdez and Patrick Valdez, all of Las Vegas; and father of "Sandie," Eduardo ""Junji"" Lucero.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesdayalso at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant.
