Dolores Pierce, age 86 passed away peacefully on January 21, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones. Dolores was born on February 11, 1927 to Gertrude and A.C. Whitney Sr. in Livingston, Texas. She moved to Humble in 1928, where she resided for 85 years. She married Aaron E. Pierce on September 25, 1947. They were blissfully married for 66 years. They were blessed with three beautiful children; Donald Aaron Pierce, David Ray Pierce and Joyce Yvonne Pierce.

Dolores graduated from Humble High School in 1944. She then received a Certificate of Cosmetology and attended Sam Houston State University. She was a member of the Humble First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Rebecca Lodge and a charter member of The Humble Area Retired Teachers Association. She taught for Humble ISD for 20 years in Early Childhood. She believed in education and was instrumental in encouragement and financial aid to her husband, children and grandchildren in furthering their education. This support produced five Bachelors degrees, two Master degrees and a degree in Culinary Arts.

Services were held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at First United Methodist Church Chapel in Humble, Texas. Interment followed at Brookside Memorial Park.
