Diane Cheswick, 89, of Charlotte died peacefully October 29, 2016, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster. She was born on January 10, 1927, in New York City. She and her husband, Bill, raised their family in East Northport, New York, and in 1987 retired to Charlotte. Diane worked as a nursing assistant for many years in New York, then for 13 years at Southminster in Charlotte, where she resided for the last month of her life. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Bill. She is survived by her children Susan Garcia (Gary) of Charlotte, Donna Deak (John) of Naples, Florida, and Thomas Cheswick (Nancy) of Charlotte. She was a loving grandmother to Daniel, Christopher, Michael, Justin, Allison, Madison, Lauren, Jerrica, and Jarren, and her great-grandson, Joshua. She had special qualities which endeared her to all those who knew her.Visitation will be at the McEwen Funeral Home, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, on Wednesday, November 2, at 6:30 p.m., followed by a service at 7:30.
