Derek L. Evans was born Jan.28,1976 to the parents of Leon Evans and Gwenetta Smith -Evans both of Dallas, Tx.  He attended DISD and graduated from A. Maceo Smith H.S

Derek was preceded in death by grandparents Edward Horton and Rosa Evans-Horton, his Uncle William Childress, his son Derek L. Evans Jr.

Derek leaves to cherish his mother Gwenetta Evans-Smith two brothers Damon Evans and Kar\'lo Evans(Otica Evans) niece Daylilah Evans greataunts Agnes Wates, Edna Hall, Patsy Jefferson, Ruby Rivers. Greatuncles Herbert Evans, Richard Evans, Thurman Evans, and a host of cousin other relatives and friends.
