Derek F. McGee II passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the tender of age of 29.

Derek was born in Dallas, Texas on September 10, 1990 to parents, Derek F. McGee & Bernice E. McGee. He was a smart and fun-loving child who always looked after his baby sister. He was funny, kind, active, generous and the life of the family. He played football and basketball and decided that he wanted to become a chef when he grew up. Derek had a personality that made many people want to be his friend. He had a way about him that drew lifelong friends and admirers.

Derek was the father of one beautiful little girl named Gabrielle. She was his pride and joy and he spent many days just letting her be daddy's little girl. While he and Dianna Davis (Gabby's Mom) had their hands full as parents, Derek and Gabby had their own wonderful adventures as well. 

Derek found his way back to his home church, Miracle Revival Center Move of God Church just two months ago, where he found himself with lifted hands and tears rolling down his face as the Pastor beckoned those who were in need of prayer. He acknowledged his need for help and came to the source of all hope. Though his loved ones could not heal the places he was torn. They trust that God had the final say so.

Derek's memory will forever be cherished by his parent's, Derek F. McGee Sr. & wife, Vanessa McGee, Bernice McGee and grandmother Yvonne Dowell, his sisters Jessica & Delicia, his bonus brothers, Matthew, Charles & Joseph, his girls Dianna & Gabrielle and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
