Dennis L. Sidders, 72, of Longmont, died peacefully on November 27, 2016 at home. He was born on November 2, 1944 in Vanport, Oregon to Melvin and Edith (Thorne) Sidders. The family moved to Enid, OK when Dennis was a child, where he excelled at sports, including Football and Track. After moving to Denver in the early-1960s, Dennis joined the
Army and served in multiple overseas locations. He earned an Honorable Discharge in 1968 after achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. He returned to Colorado after serving his country, and married Diana (Schrameyer) Sidders in 1971. He built a career that 'never felt like work' to him, combining his passion for all things automotive with a knack for sales excellence that his closest friends attributed to his warmth and instant likability. As a Corporate Sales Representative in the Automotive Aftermarket for Fortune 100 companies, he was recognized as International Salesman of the Year in 1989, and earned Top Performer Sales Excellence Awards in 1991, 1994, and 1995. Throughout his adult life, Dennis enjoyed the collection and restoration of mechanical pieces, from rare cameras to classic automobiles. He was noted as a subject matter expert by his peers, and amassed a valuable car collection that he enjoyed sharing with his sons, friends, and fellow enthusiasts. In the summertime, Dennis could often be found at local car cruises and shows with one of his beloved Corvettes. His greatest accomplishment, however, was serving as a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather, and he is dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; younger sisters, Shelly and Linna, and a younger brother, Mark. Survivors include his wife, Diana; son, Jeffrey; son, Daniel (Chenae) and two grandchildren, Aiden and Emma; brothers, Charles (Janice), Elgin, Gregory (Patti), and T.J. (Terri); sisters, Ivonna Sue (Leon) and Lisa (Mark). Visitation will be from 5pm-7pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM, on Thursday, December 1st at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont, CO. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, December 2nd at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont, CO. A reception will be held at the church following the Mass.
