GARDINER, Dennis ClarkDennis was born on June 16, 1951 in Bridge of Allan, Scotland. He died peacefully on December 28, 2016 of complications of melanoma, with family by his side. Fiancé of his beloved Lynn, predeceased by parents Harry and Jessie, loving brother of Aylene, proud father of Duncan and Kirsty, proud grandfather of Callum, Emily, David and Struan. Dennis graduated from the University of Glasgow medical school in 1975. He was a Family Doctor in Ottawa for 30 satisfying years. He often said he had the best job in the world. Dennis was on staff at the Department of Family Medicine, University of Ottawa. He had a special interest in diabetes and ran a weekly clinic for many years. For the last six years he was a Medical Advisor to the federal government. Dennis was a lifelong golfer and member of Carleton Golf and Yacht Club, who never did get an ace. In hope of preventing the disease from which he succumbed, he encouraged everyone to liberally apply sunblock before going out. Dennis will be greatly missed by his extended family and his many devoted friends. Many thanks to the staff at the Ottawa General Hospital for their compassionate care.
