POINT PLEASANT — Denise Buchanan, 64, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday November 15, 2016.
She was born on June 20, 1952, a daughter of Tom and Wilma Fisher. Denise was a 1970 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and received a Bachelor's degree from Marshall University. She was a Media Specialist at Mason County Board of Education and was Librarian at Hannan High School until her retirement in 2013. Denise was a loyal member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of Point Pleasant Chapter #75 OES, ADK, Secretary of the PPHS Alumni Association, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Board Member of Toys for Kids.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband Bill Buchanan, her son B.J. (Amber) Buchanan, her daughter Nikki (Brandon) Roush, and two sisters Diane Epling and Debbie (Mike) Young. Denise is also survived by her five grandchildren Trey and Andrew Buchanan, Havin, Brynn, and Bralee Roush, and many special nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Denise's life will be remembered at 1 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist with Pastor Jim Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Deal's Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 5:30-8:30 p.m., with an Eastern Star Service at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Trinity Christian Community Center.
