Johnson Veterans HospitalHe was born on May 13, 1943 in New Orleans, LA the son of Donald and Irene (Monsees) Schryver. He grew up in Sioux Falls and attended Washington High School, Augustana College and USD. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Nationwide and later worked as a social worker for the State of South Dakota.Delwin enjoyed his coffee time with his buddies in Watertown and was an avid sprint car race fan.Grateful for having shared his life are: his mother, Irene Schryver, son Don Schryver, and daughter Lorelei Schryver all of Sioux Falls; 3 sisters, Leah Meyer, Athens, Al, Laurie (Ken) Bietz, Minneapolis, MN and Betty (Luis) Alfaro, Iowa City, IA; 2 brothers, Tim (Hilda) Schryver, Runge, TX and Ted Schryver, Sioux Falls; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah, Victoria, Gavyn and Leon and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father Donald and 2 siblings, Linda and Lance.Private family services will be held at a later date.
