Delores Marie Rau, 85 of Tulalip, WA passed away on October 12, 2013 wtih her family by her side. She was born on April 18. 1928 in Red Wing, MN to John and Mamie Larson. Mom worked at Simpson Lee Mill for 18 years and General Hospital for 17 years from which she retired in 1991. Delores married Donald J. Rau on February 26, 1949. She was a volunteer at General Hospital for many years and took much pride and great satisfaction from it. Mom and Dad enjoyed road trips and went every chance they could. She loved to go shopping, with shoes and purses being her passion. She loved the holidays and family gatherings. She is preceded in death by husband, Donald Rau; daughter, Patti Rau; sister, Evelyn Falteisek; her parents; three brothers, and son-in-law, Lamonte Thompson. She is survived by children, Merrilee Kreitzburg and Gary, Kathy Thompson; seven grandchildren, Leanne Smith (Greg), Douglas Owens, Tami Walton (Mike), Larry Tackstrom (Susan), Justin Vadasz (Jacob), Kimberly Mohr (Scott) and Michael Duffy (Robin); six great-grandchildren, Taryn Smith, Autumn Brown (Taylor), Tiffany Owens, Mason Tackstrom, Mackenzie Just and Joseph Duffy; great great-grandsons, Bennet Brown and Malik Owens; nieces, Suzanne Balam (Gerry), Linda Obom (Mike), Sandra Falteisek (Bob); nephew, Doug Falteisek (Twila); and many great nieces and nephews. Viewing will be October 16, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at Solies Funeral Home, 3301 Colby. Graveside Services wil be October 17, 2013, 2 p.m. at Cypress Lawn Cemetery, with Pastor Bill Gordon officiating, who is very special to the family. Donations can be made to Providence Hospice and Home Care. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Providence Hospice and Home Care. Everyone we had visits from were exceptional, but Mom's Care team, Joyce McGinnis, Jamey Moser and "Wisconsin" became like family. Mom looked forward to their visits and loved them very much. She was a rock and a wonderful Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was truly a family Treasure. You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived.
