Delores Jean Chaltry1929-2016Delores Jean Chaltry, 87, beautiful wife of Richard, passed away peacefully at her home on October 16, 2016 in Houston, Texas with her family by her side. Delores was born on March 1, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Darold and Gertrude Peters.Delores was a gourmet cook and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her love for antiques led her to open her own antique business which she operated for over 10 years. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling the world.In 1950 Delores married the love of her life, Richard Chaltry and together they raised four children in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They later moved to Houston, Texas in 1974 to enjoy the warm climate.Delores was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Hess; and daughter, Linda Hanel. She is survived by her brothers, Robert, Thomas, Richard, Nicholas, and Donald Peters; three children, Patricia Atkinson (Dean), Barbara Rice (Ken), and Joanne Beasley (Russell); seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc, Houston, TX 77024.In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in her name to Harbor Foundation at www.harbor foundation.com or (409)-981-1888.
