Bailey, Delores A.Delores A. Bailey, 99, Green Bay, died Thursday, June 1, 2017 following a brief illness.She was born on July 27, 1917, in Eau Claire, WI to James and Kathrine Gilchrist.Delores was a wonderful woman in every way and had a wonderful life. She graduated from Eau Claire State Teachers College. During World War II, Delores served in the U.S. Navy as a flight instructor. She met Ray A. Bailey in Eau Claire, through her best friend, and on June 14, 1947, they were married. Delores was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown and later worked with special needs children with the Green Bay School District until her retirement. She loved the Brewers and the Packers, camping, doing needlepoint, reading, traveling, dancing with Ray, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Delores is survived by her children, Steven R. (Jeanne) Bailey, Lynn L. Bailey; grandchildren, Tarra L. Bailey, Erica A. Bailey; great-grandchildren, Brayden Bailey, Tyler Moore, Tara Bailey; and other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents; and her sister, Helen Watts.Friends may call at Woodside Senior Community Chapel, 1040 Pilgrim Way, from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
