Delia Jacobson Scearce 73, of Hamilton/Oak city area since 1977, died Friday, September 30, 2016.Delia was born on January 22, 1943, in New Mexico to the late Pud Jacobson and Eileen Smyer Jacobson. Delia's open, friendly manner and pure kindness made her a standout within the community. Her deep love for animals was respected by all who were fortunate to meet this caring woman. She held her friends dear to her. Delia's positive outlook and honesty will be deeply missed by her friends and family. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Scearce and her grandfather S.E. Smyer.Survivors include; sister, Kate Jacobson Kuligowski (Wally) of Albuquerque, NM; niece, Pamela Agar of Denver, CO; nephews, Kurt Kuligowski of San Francisco, CA, Tom McDonald of Columbia, SC, Mike Bennett of Bear Grass, Everett Bennett of Greenville, Keith Patterson and Greg Patterson both of Jacksonville, NC. She is also survived by her two sister in laws, Barbara Bennett (Milton) of Oak City and Brenda Patterson (Bob) of Jacksonville, NC.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Gold Point Church of Christ.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the HSUS.
