Delbert Ray Elmer 78, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 at home in Yuma. He was born on July 11, 1934 in Thatcher, AZ. Delbert graduated from Yuma High School in 1953. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad in 1953 and served in the U.S. Army from1959 to 1961. Delbert is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Slater; daughter Wanda Rae Manuel; step-sons, Gary (Karen) Slawn and Charles (Mary) Splawn; niece Diane (David) Coulter and nephews Bob (Leila) Geiger and Davey (Kim) Smith; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Osburn and Crysteen Elmer; twin sister, Fay Kennell and daughter, Sharen Punneo. Visitation will be held on at Johnson Mortuary Sunday December 30, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Services will be at Johnson Mortuary on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00am with Father Paul Gambling officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Yuma.
