Debra Louise Shimkus1954 - 2014Debra Louise Shimkus, 59, of Kenosha, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on June 10, 1954, the daughter of Ronald M. and Sylvia R. (Carbaugh) Landree. She attended local schools and received her degree in nursing.On June 12, 1991, she was united in marriage to Anthony Shimkus, Jr. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 2003.Debra was employed for 30 years with AMC/Chrysler Corporation and was a proud U.A.W. Local #72 member.She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Debra adored her beautiful miniature poodles, Fritter and Quigley. They were treated like part of the family. She will be remembered as a very outgoing and loving person.Debra is survived by her mother, Sylvia Landree; her two sisters, Barbara (Heriberto) Echevarria of Puerto Rico and Cynthia Landree of Fox Lake, Ill.; her two nephews, Raymond and Ryan Echevarria; and her four nieces, Stephanie, Emily, Olivia, and Jenna Landree.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Ronald M. Landree; her brother, Anthony J. Landree; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.In accordance with Debras wishes, private funeral services and interment in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park will be held.
