Smith, DavidDavid R. Smith, age 52 of Spencer, died on Thursday June 22, 2017 at the Marshfield Care Center. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Burial will take place in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wisconsin Rapids.David was born on June 9, 1965 to Donald and Kay (Alloway) Smith in Stevens Point, WI. Growing up he attended Amherst Area High School, graduating in 1983. He was the store manager for Don Smith Sales in Unity and Spencer for 27 years. He then opened up and managed Smith Discount Sales in Marshfield until ill health forced his retirement in 2013. He loved NASCAR racing, hunting, gambling, tinkering with building and carpentry, his truck, and his dog Houdini. Survivors include three sisters, Ginger Smith of Denmark, WI; Dani Kluck of Neshkoro, WI; and Kathleen Hess of Schofield, WI; two brothers, Glenn Smith of Stanley, WI; and Donnie Smith of Spencer, WI.He was preceded in death by his parents.
