David J. Gomez, 60, a resident of Las Vegas, was called to be with Our Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2014 .He was born on May 11, 1954, in Las Vegas to Willie Gomez and the late Agneda Gomez.A Catholic and attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. David enjoyed yard work, landscaping, and liked helping anyone that needed a hand. David loved to listen to John and Sylvia's Spanish music. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.He was preceded in death by his mother, Agneda Gomez; and brother, Frank Gomez.He survived by his father, Willie Gomez and Carmen Sena of Las Vegas; sister, Sylvia Trujillo and husband, Frank, of Las Vegas; brother, John Gomez of Las Vegas; love of his life, Evelyn Fernandez of Las Vegas; nephews and nieces, Gabriel Gomez, Joylynn Gomez, Stephanie Marquez, Isaac Lucero, Tammy Lucero, Eden Gomez, Josie Gonzales, Chico Gomez and Valerie Gomez; and numerous great-nephews and nieces.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday also at Immaculate Conception Church with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Gabriel Gomez, Santana Gomez, Ulisses Villalobos, Christian Herrera, Joseph Cordova and Felix Lucero. Serving as honorary bearers will be all his great-nieces and nephews.
