MARSTON — David Emmitt Marshall, 84, passed away at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer on July 29, 2015.
He was a son of the late Buford and Bertha Heath Marshall born on Sept. 25, 1930 in Lonoke, Arkansas. He was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Air Force.
He had a distinguished career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, retiring after many years of service. A devoted Christian man, he served the Lord faithfully and lived as a true witness for Christ. He served as an active member of Stewartsville Baptist Church and The Gideons International.
He was a former member of the American Legion while residing in Maryland. He was also a pilot and enjoyed being part of the Ham Radio Community. Dave loved his family and truly cherished their times together.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Virgil Marshall, Mary Lee Moran, Wesley Marshall and Roy Marshall.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Anna Wright Marshall of their home in Marston, his children David Allen Marshall of the home, Deborah D. Kingery of Crofton, Maryland, Donna Mongold and husband Lynden of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Duane Marshall and wife Enorita of Hope Mills, his grandchildren Jennifer Scott, Dawn McKeich, Shawn Mongold, Judah Emmitt Marshall, Bethany Marshall, Caleb Marshall, and Josiah Marshall, great-grandchildren Robert McKeich, Alexander Ehemann, and Hunter McKeich, nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
Services will be held on Sunday at Stewartsville Baptist Church, visitation from 2-3 p.m. with the funeral service at 3 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Laurinburg Memorial Park.
