David C. Cooper1955 -- 2013David C. Cooper "Coop, 57, of Pleasant Prairie passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013, with his loving family by his side. David was born on Sept. 29, 1955, in Kenosha to Charles and Bonnie (Colbert) Cooper and graduated from Tremper High School in 1973. David has been with the Pleasant Prairie Fire Department since 1976. His courageous and unconditional dedication as a lieutenant and firemedic, "Coop" always shined in our community. Prior to his career as a firemedic, he worked for American Motors, Pleasant Prairie Power Plant, Labors for Christ and Elkhart Lakes Road Americas Safety Team. He also worked for LJH and Medix Ambulance. He married Laurie Kuhn at Prairie Springs Park on Sept. 9, 2000. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for many years. David was also a member of IAFF-Local 3785, Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin and WI State Firefighters Association. Coops love and dedication as a firefighter shone throughout his career but his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by, his father; and his daughter, Sara Kuhn-Perez.Coop is survived by his loving wife, Laurie of Pleasant Prairie; his mother, Bonnie Cooper of Racine; two children, Gabrielle (Michael) Zapp and Vince Perez both of Pleasant Prairie; 14 grandchildren and one great grandson; his brother, Bobby (Teresa) Cooper; his sister, Wanda Cooper; his very special friend, Branka Vujovic (P.I.T.A.) as well as many nieces, nephews and many many friends.Funeral services for David will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (4311-104th Street). A visitation will be held at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Fire Department walk through at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family so that they may set up a scholarship in Davids memory at a later date, would be greatly appreciated.
