Darrell J. Kangas1939 - 2015Darrell J. Kangas, 75, of Kenosha, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015, following a courageous battle with complications from diabetes.He was born on May 26, 1939 to the late Matt and Taimi (Rosenberg) Kangas in Hurley, Wis. Darrell attended Hurley schools and graduated from Hurley High School with the class of 1958. He then made his home in Kenosha where he was employed at American Brass/Outokumpa for 35 plus years, retiring in 1998.On June 29, 1963 he married Diane Pikka in Wakefield, Mich.Darrell enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, the Panama Canal, the Caribbean and his favorite destination Jamaica. He also loved to travel up north to spend time with family and friends. Darrell was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers football teams. Darrell loved bowling, cooking, going to casinos, watching golf, and enjoyed being in the sun. But mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Darrell was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and loyal friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 286.He leaves behind his loving wife, Diane of 51 years; his daughter, Darrilyn (Greg) Mathson and his son, Dean (Linda) Kangas, his two grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life, Gabrielle and Riley and his grand dog, Maggie. He is also survived by his brother, Donald (Juliet) Kangas; his brother-in-law, Tom (Pauline) Pikka; his sister-in-law, Donna Pikka, special cousin Arlene, and numerous nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Bodoh.Funeral services for Darrell will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
