DANIEL R. BAILEY Dan passed away unexpectedly in Fresno on Monday, May 3, 2004. He was born on August 29, 1942, to Ed and Marguerite Bailey. He was the manager of Arrow Electric where he had worked since he graduated from Fresno City College. Dan loved his work and his friends. They all will remember his sense of humor and his nicknames for each of them. Dan was predeceased by his parents Ed and Marguerite; as well as his younger brother Jim. In his beloved mother, Peg's later years, he dedicated most of his free time to caring for her. He was a good and loving son who made sure his mom was well cared for after her husband died. Dan never married and never had any children, but he wanted to make sure that what he had went to the community. He has made significant provisions for several Fresno area charities. His generosity will benefit many people in our community. He liked knowing that. Dan loved oval track racing and was active in the racing community. He worked on many pit crews and enjoyed the comradery of the racing teams. If there was a description of Dan, his friends would all agree it would be that he was honest, trustworthy, and dependable. Dan was a big part of the team at Arrow Electric and nobody could remember him ever taking more than two days of sick time in over 30 years he worked there. Dan enjoyed a good glass of Crown Royal every once in awhile and his friends will remember him with a toast at his memorial gathering at the Lime Lite Restaurant at 1054 W. Shaw in Fresno on Friday, May 14, 2004, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Fresno Rescue Mission, Nancy Hinds Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
